Abstract

This paper presents the determination of the dosimetric parameters of the total component in the neutron calibration field using a  source established at the Military Institute of Chemical and Environmental Engineering, MICEE (belonging to the High Command of Chemistry – Ministry of National Defense). The dosimetric parameters of the total component are evaluated through measurements using the Bonner sphere spectrometer (BSS) and the international commercial neutron unfolding code (FRUIT). Specifically, the following quantities are measured and calculated: total neutron fluence rates, total neutron ambient dose rates, neutron fluence-averaged energies, neutron ambient dose-averaged energies, neutron fluence-to-ambient dose conversion coefficients. The experimental results show that the neutron calibration field of  (at MICEE) can be used to calibrate the neutron ambient dose rate meters within the range  < 50 µSv/h.
