This paper investigates the effect of hot pressing technology parameters (temperature, pressure, time) on the transmittance of infrared light in manufacturing optical ceramic magnesium fluoride (MgF2), thereby determining the suitable technological parameters to produce optical ceramic materials that meet the technical requirements of the infrared domes of the self-guide missiles. We also study the mechanisms and laws that occur during the hot pressing process. Fabricating test samples at different technological parameters to evaluate the effect of the parameters on the quality of pressed products. After conducting experiments, we determine the appropriate mode of hot pressing technology (pressure P=250MPa; temperature T=650°C and pressing time t=30 minutes) for making infrared missile domes to meet the proposed requirements.
