Abstract

 This paper presents a frequency hopping control solution for radio transceivers. The proposed solution not only allows synchronous frequency hopping control between the receiver and the transmitter, but also allows the receiver to restore synchronization after losing it. In order to verify the operation of the algorithm, a pair of wireless modems with frequency hopping spread spectrum were designed and implemented. With the 2 types of radio modems based on two different types of transceiver ICs, the test results showed that the frequency hopping control software of both modems worked properly, both modems can allow reliable data transmission while ensuring synchronous frequency hopping as well as allow for recovery of synchronization after its loss during operation.
