Abstract

This paper presents the research results on the selection of binders for preparing rod-shaped X zeolite used in drying blocks to remove condensate from the air compressor system. The hardness and adsorption capacity of zeolite particles synthesized using 3 different binding agents, including silica sol, boehmite, and carboxymethyl cellulose, which were compared to select the appropriate agent. The results showed that zeolite particles made from boehmite binder with 12% content by weight had good hardness, ion exchange capacity and adsorption capacity for water and toluene, which are 105 meq/100g, 11,25g/100g, and 11.17 g/100 g, respectively.
